A woman was arrested and later allowed to leave for Dubai after authorities caught her attempting to carry a large amount of foreign currency abroad at Karachi Airport. The woman, a UAE national, tried to escape arrest by running toward the parking lot.

Authorities became suspicious of the woman’s handbags during profiling. Upon inspection, they found AED 50,000, an amount not permitted to be taken abroad by travelers.

When authorities attempted to investigate further, the woman initially tried to flee but was later found in the parking lot by police. As per reports, she  resisted arrest but was eventually handed over to customs officials.

The woman, identified as Tahira Makhdoom and hailing from Hyderabad, was allowed to board her flight to Dubai after her cash was seized. The reasons for her attempted escape remain unclear.
