A massive fire broke out in multiple junk warehouses in Karachi’s Sohrab Goth area. The blaze was brought under control after several hours of relentless effort, as the fire brigade reportedly faced a severe water shortage.
The fire affected at least 30 warehouses, which housed used clothing, plastic, and other items. It is believed that the fire was caused by a short circuit.
Extinguishing the fire took several hours, during which time the fire brigade struggled with a lack of water.
An eyewitness stated that many fire tenders were dispatched to the scene immediately, but they soon ran out of water. Firefighters managed to control the fire with limited resources.

An owner of a charred warehouse stated, "The fire brigade did not have water for hours, and every time, when there is a fire, we are told to arrange our own water tankers."
In contrast, an official from the fire brigade denied the claims about water unavailability, stating that four fire tenders from Rescue 1122 and their firefighters participated collaboratively in the operation to control the fire.
The official added that the cooling process would take an additional two to three hours.
Police and Rangers personnel cordoned off the area, but there have been no reports of casualties resulting from the fire.
