Spokesperson for the Pakistan Army, Lt Gen Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry, has said that the recent operation in Kabul targeted only military installations of the Afghan Taliban, including ammunition, weapons and drone stockpiles in Operation Ghazab lil-Haq.
In an interview, the ISPR chief rejected claims by Afghanistan and India that a hospital for drug-dependent individuals had been targeted, describing such reports as propaganda.
He said the explosions following the airstrike indicated the presence of a large quantity of weapons and explosives, which were felt across the city, adding that the operation was carried out against specific targets.
The DG ISPR also dismissed claims of civilian casualties, calling them propaganda. He noted that many Taliban fighters wear civilian clothing, which can make it difficult to distinguish them.
He further said that the Taliban use drug-dependent individuals for suicide attacks.
Lt Gen Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry claimed that drones used against Pakistan are being supplied to the Afghan Taliban by India.
He emphasised that Pakistan has no hostility towards the people of Afghanistan, stating that they themselves are being held hostage by militant elements.
