Ducky Bhai remanded in NCCIA custody for five more days

A Lahore judicial magistrate on Saturday handed over YouTuber Saadur Rehman, better known as Ducky Bhai, to the National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency (NCCIA) for five more days in a case pertaining to alleged promotion of online gambling applications.

The YouTuber was produced before Judicial Magistrate Naeem Wattoo as the investigating officer requested an extension in his physical remand to complete his investigation.

The defence counsel opposed the remand request, arguing that the NCCIA already had his phone and laptop and could carry out forensic analysis instead of seeking physical custody.

The court directed the IO to produce the suspect on expiry of his physical remand on August 28.

The YouTuber was arrested on Sunday at Lahore’s Allama Iqbal International Airport while attempting to leave the country. He has been booked under sections of the Prevention of Electronic Crimes Act, 2016, as well as sections 294-B (offering prizes in trade) and 420 (cheating) of the Pakistan Penal Code.

According to the state’s FIR, Rehman is accused of promoting multiple online betting platforms in Pakistan.

Rehman’s wife, Aroob Jatoi, appeared before the agency on Wednesday after securing pre-arrest bail.

The couple previously faced legal trouble in 2024 after being detained for displaying firearms on social media.
