A feasibility study for the proposed "Murree Tourist Glass Train" project, which will connect Islamabad to Murree, is expected to be completed by April 30, 2025.

The National Engineering Services Pakistan (NESPAK) has been tasked with conducting the study.

Once the study is finished, it will undergo review and approval from the relevant authorities. Following this, the project will move to the next phase, with an international tender being issued for the contract. The initiative will be executed through a public-private partnership model.

The proposed 55-kilometer tourist train route will travel from the H-9 Railway Station in Islamabad to the scenic hill station of Murree.

A recent meeting at the NESPAK House in Islamabad, chaired by Punjab Transport Minister Bilal Akbar, focused on the key elements of the project.

The meeting provided an overview of the feasibility study, which will assess several factors, including the condition of railway tracks, station requirements, geological conditions, environmental protection, and other important aspects.

NESPAK representatives outlined the steps for the study, which will help determine the route and overall cost. The completion of the feasibility study will pave the way for the approval process and the awarding of the project contract.
