A fire erupted in Karachi's Saddar mobile market on Monday night, damaging numerous shops and resulting in a significant financial loss.

Firefighters said over five fire tenders were used to bring the late-night fire under control.

Minhaj Gulfam, Chairman of the Electronics Dealers Association, stated that the blaze affected Shah Jahan Market, Bismillah Market, and Muttasil Market, with the cause of the fire yet to be determined.

The narrow streets in the market contributed to the fire's spread, resulting in losses amounting to millions of rupees.

As per a fire officer, the exact number of damaged shops is yet to be determined.

Several fire incidents have been reported in the metropolis in a span of one month. Last week, a fire erupted on the third floor of a building at Shahrah-e-Faisal. Fortunately, no loss of life was reported as a result of the fire.

Before that, a huge fire erupted at the multi-story Arshi Shopping Mall located in the Ayesha Manzil area, leaving at least five people dead.

On November 25, a fire at the RJ Shopping Mall claimed 11 lives with investigators pointing to "substandard electrical installations" sparking off the blaze on the fourth floor of the commercial building.
