Gul Plaza fire: 39 victims identified as latest DNA reports revealed

The Sindh Forensic DNA Laboratory released results for 12 previously unidentified remains from the Gul Plaza fire. With the latest findings, the total number of identified victims has become 39.
According to authorities, the recent identifications were made not through DNA matching, but via “proof of presence”, a method that relies on evidence confirming a person’s presence at the site at the time of the incident, including records, belongings and witness verification.
Among those identified are Umar Nabeel son of Shahid Ali, Ayesha daughter of Umar Nabeel and Ali, son of Umar Nabeel. Khizar Ali and Haider Ali, sons of Khalid Ali, and Aamir Ali, son of Nawaz Ali, were also confirmed.
Furthermore, Abubakar, son of Ismail; Yasin, son of Nazmeen Sarwar; Sadaqatullah, son of Salamatullah; Yousuf Khan, son of Ameer Muhammad; Naimatullah and Abdullah, sons of Haji Rais Khan were also confirmed amongst the victims who lost life in the tragic incident.
Officials have reported that the identification process of the remaining victims is underway.
