Hot, dry weather to persist in most of country, rain likely in northern areas

Mainly hot and dry weather is expected in most parts of Pakistan on Wednesday, with very hot conditions likely in the plains, according to the Pakistan Meteorological Department.
The Met Office said isolated rain, wind and thunderstorms are likely in upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Kashmir and nearby hilly areas during the afternoon.
In Islamabad and surrounding areas, hot and dry weather is expected, with partly cloudy skies.
Most districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa are likely to remain hot and dry, though areas including Dir, Swat, Kohistan, Abbottabad, Mansehra and Parachinar may receive isolated rain and thunderstorms.
In Punjab, weather will stay mostly hot and dry, with chances of rain and thunderstorms in Murree, Galiyat, Jhelum, Lahore, Sheikhupura, Sialkot and Narowal.
Sindh is expected to remain hot and dry, with very hot conditions in upper and central districts, while coastal areas may experience gusty winds.
In Balochistan, central districts are likely to face intense heat, while coastal regions may see dusty winds.
Over the last 24 hours, the highest temperature was recorded in Sibi at 45°C.
