The final cost for Hajj under the government scheme has been confirmed at Rs 1.05 million for the 40-day official Hajj package, sources confirmed.

The figure follows extensive negotiations and agreements with Saudi authorities, bringing down earlier estimates that ranged between Rs 1.075 million and Rs 1.175 million.

The Ministry of Religious Affairs initially began accepting Hajj applications based on these preliminary figures, but the final estimate has now been established. For pilgrims opting for the shorter-duration Hajj package, the cost is set at Rs 1.1 million per person.

This year, the Hajj package will offer several upgraded amenities for pilgrims, including air-conditioned tents in Mina, replacing the previous cooler setups.

Accommodations will also feature more modern facilities, such as gypsum board tents and sofa beds instead of traditional mattresses. Additionally, shelf facilities will be included in the packages.

In positive news for pilgrims, hotel costs have decreased following recent agreements in Saudi Arabia.

The charges for double beds have dropped significantly from Rs 259,000 to Rs 185,000, a reduction of Rs 74,000. Similarly, the extra charges for triple beds have been lowered from Rs 86,500 to Rs 63,000.

The Ministry of Religious Affairs is expected to announce the final details of the Hajj expenses in the coming days, but these adjustments are expected to provide some relief to prospective pilgrims.
