Islamabad High Court (IHC) Justice Mian Gul Hassan Aurangzeb granted bail to former Prime Minister and PTI founder Imran Khan in the Toshakhana II case.
The bail was approved in exchange for two surety bonds of Rs1 million each.
During the hearing, FIA prosecutor Umair Majeed Malik and other officials appeared before the court, while Imran Khan's lawyer, Barrister Salman Safdar, presented arguments.
The court observed that the case involves allegations of selling a jewelry set at an inflated price.
Justice Mian Gul Hassan Aurangzeb noted that If there is non-cooperation during the trial, the bail may be revoked.
Imran Khan had earlier been granted bail in the former Toshakhana case.
On July 13, NAB arrested Imran Khan and his wife Bushra Bibi in a new Toshakhana reference immediately after they secured bail in the Iddat case. According to the NAB inquiry report, this new case involves the alleged illegal possession and sale of ten valuable gifts, including seven luxury watches.
The Toshakhana II case came under the FIA’s jurisdiction following a Supreme Court verdict on the NAB amendments.
On September 12, 2024, a three-member FIA Joint Investigation Team (JIT) was constituted to investigate the case.
The Accountability Court had transferred the Toshakhana II reference against Imran Khan and his wife, Bushra Bibi, from NAB to FIA.
Bushra Bibi, who had been in detention for nine months, was released from Adiala Jail on October 24 after securing post-arrest bail in the Toshakhana II case. Just a day earlier, the IHC granted her bail against surety bonds worth Rs1 million in the same case.
