Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder Imran Khan claimed that a false case of £190 million was initiated against his wife, Bushra Bibi, in order to appease Chief Minister Punjab Maryam Nawaz Sharif.

Imran Khan stated it was a vengeful act from Maryam Nawaz, as she had to face corruption charges during the PTI government.

Former premier Imran Khan made this statement in a written response in the £190 case, in which he recorded his answers to 79 questions.

He compared the case against him to the landmark Bhutto reference, in which the Supreme Court had already highlighted the issues with a fair trial.

Khan claimed that according to the prosecution’s witness, the account holder transferred the fund at the direction of the Supreme Court, which did not harm the state, and the money in question does not belong to the state.

The witness, who is the Chief Financial Officer of Al-Qadir University, also cleared, that Khan had no connection with the financial activities of the university.

He also accused the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) of deliberately destroying the key records against Nawaz Sharif, Asif Ali Zardari, Shahbaz Sharif, and others.

PTI founder also cited the statement of a bank official, saying the case is a dispute between two private parties, and the government of Pakistan was never involved in it.

Meanwhile, he dismissed the notion that his wife or relatives had gained financial benefit from the trust.

Moreover,  Khan maintained that the corruption case against my wife is false and fabricated, and it was filed on the will of CM Maryam.
