Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder Imran Khan on Thursday said that he has been offered through Chairman PTI Barrister Gohar and Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Ali Amin Gandapur to withdraw call for the protest to normalise the situation.
Talking to journalists before appearing in the special court in a vandalism case, in which he was arrested late Wednesday after getting bail in Toshakhana reference II, he stressed that he would not cancel the protest until the government accepted the demand.
“Our demand could have been fulfilled earlier, but they [the government] did accept, which shows that they were not serious, they just want to postpone our November 24 protest,” said PTI founder
Imran Khan said he demanded to release everyone under trial, including himself, so that the seriousness of the negotiations could be known.
He said it also became clear that the one who has the real power did all of these, and it has been done to tell us that they can do everything whatever they want.
Imran Khan said that if the 26th Constitutional Amendment is fully implemented, there will be no relief from anywhere. We have no choice but to protest.
“Protest will continue, despite negotiations, because things could not move forward without talks.”
However, Imran Khan refuses to disclose the names of the people who are negotiating with.
“There must be a protest on November 24, now it has become clear that I will not be released before November 24 and if they are serious about talks then our people should be released, 60 cases have been made against me while I was in jail, I have been granted bail in all the main cases but despite this I have not been released.
