Lahore: Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar said Pakistan played an important role in efforts aimed at promoting peace during tensions between the United States and Iran, adding that the country's international standing has strengthened as a result.

Speaking at a ceremony to wash the shrine of Data Ganj Bakhsh in Lahore, Dar said that under the leadership of Shehbaz Sharif and with the efforts of Syed Asim Munir, Pakistan worked to support peace and stability during the crisis.

He said Pakistan's name is being recognized globally and that the country is increasingly viewed as a proponent of peace on the international stage.

The deputy prime minister noted that Pakistan was among the first countries to condemn attacks on Iran and stood by the country during a difficult period. He added that Pakistan also strongly condemned attacks on a fellow Islamic nation.

Commenting on the economy, Dar said the government had helped stabilize an economy facing significant challenges and was now focused on achieving stronger economic growth.

He expressed optimism about Pakistan's future economic prospects and urged citizens to pray for the country's continued progress.

He further said that attempts to isolate Pakistan internationally had failed and reiterated the country's commitment to safeguarding its sovereignty and national interests.
