Karachi experienced the coldest night of the current winter season on Friday, with the minimum temperature dropping to 6.5 degrees Celsius in Gulistan-e-Jauhar, according to the Meteorological Department.

The weather department reported varying temperatures across the city, with 8 degrees Celsius recorded at Jinnah Terminal, 8.5 degrees on Shahra-e-Faisal, 9 degrees in Mauripur, and 9.7 degrees in Bin Qasim.

Looking ahead, the Meteorological Department has forecast that cold weather will persist across Sindh, including Karachi, over the next 24 hours. The minimum temperature in Karachi is expected to range between 8 and 10 degrees Celsius during this period.

Humidity levels in the city were recorded at 25 percent, accompanied by light northeast winds, according to the department.

According to the Meteorological Department's Early Warning Center, the intensity of cold weather in Karachi could increase within the next 24 to 48 hours, with temperatures possibly reaching single digits.

The minimum temperature on Saturday and Sunday could dip to around 8°C.

The weather department also indicated that cold conditions are likely to persist across the province, with particularly severe cold expected in areas such as Larkana and Qamber Shahdadkot.
