Weather analyst Jawad Memon has predicted another cold wave in Karachi, expected to begin on Friday night.  The change in wind direction suggests the cold wave will potentially impact the weather of the port city.

He stated that this would be the last chill spell in Karachi, with temperatures ranging between 11°C and 14°C. He attributed the cold wave to the impact of northern winds blowing into the city.

Sharing the forecast on a private news channel, he stated that Karachi will experience a new weather season from the beginning of February as the port city transitions into spring.

He also predicted the summer season will begin in mid-Ramzan, saying, "Karachi will experience about half of Ramzan in spring and half in summer." He added, "The weather is expected to turn hot in the final ten days of Ramzan."

However, Jawad Memon downplayed the chances of rain in February, saying that the upcoming month would also experience less than normal rainfall, as in previous months.

Currently, the authorities have issued a drought alert in Sindh, and the situation is expected to become worse,” he added.

Last week, Karachi experienced a noticeable drop in temperature following the arrival of cold winds from Balochistan.

The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has predicted that the cold spell will persist over the next few days, with the temperature potentially dropping to single digits.

On January 23, Karachi's minimum temperature was recorded at 10.9°C, marking a 3.6°C decrease compared to the previous day.
