Karachi Police have decided to present the prime suspect in the Karsaz car accident, Natasha Iqbal Danish, via video link in court due to security concerns, instead of requiring her to appear in person for hearings.

According to police sources, to prevent any incidents, the accused will appear via video link. Court permission has been obtained for this arrangement.

Speaking at the Judicial Magistrate East Court, the victim's counsel, Barrister Uzair Ghori, stated that the accused's lawyer had submitted a request to be excused from in-person attendance.

The court approved this request and allowed the accused's lawyer to present Natasha via video link only for today [Monday], he added.

Barrister Ghori noted that the police filed a separate case for drug use rather than including this charge as an additional count in the primary case.

In accordance with Supreme Court guidelines, both cases will proceed simultaneously.

The lawyer stated that he was unaware of any communication with his client regarding "Diyat" as it is the sole punishment specified under Section 322.

Barrister Ghori further explained that the court determines the amount of Diyat in terms of silver.

He said that the plaintiff has frequently expressed concerns about the pressure being placed on the victims' family and has often discussed these matters with him.

The horrific accident on August 19 sparked outrage in the country after Natasha, daughter-in-law of the business tycoon family Gul Ahmed, crashed her car into several vehicles on a nearby lane at Karsaz road in Karachi, killing a father and daughter and injuring four others.

The Karsaz car accident case is currently pending in court. On August 21, the accused woman was sent on a judicial remand for 14 days.
