Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz has announced Rs10 billion in financial assistance for security forces operating in Balochistan.
The announcement was made during her visit to Quetta, where she attended a ceremony at the Frontier Corps (FC) Headquarters.
Speaking on the occasion, she said Punjab would extend full support to security forces working to restore peace in the province.
Earlier, Maryam Nawaz visited the Balochistan Chief Minister’s Secretariat, where she was received by Chief Minister Sarfraz Bugti, along with members of the provincial cabinet and lawmakers.
Addressing the gathering, the Punjab chief minister said the commitment of the people of Balochistan to Pakistan was commendable.
She added that the Punjab government would offer every possible cooperation to help Balochistan overcome its challenges.
“We stand with Balochistan. Terrorism can only be defeated through national unity. We want to see peace, stability and prosperity in the province,” she said.
