Momina Iqbal, Saqib Chadhar issued notices by NCCIA over concealing information: Report

The National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency (NCCIA) has reissued notices to actress Momina Iqbal and PML-N MPA Saqib Chadhar after allegedly discovering previously undisclosed information during a forensic examination of their mobile phones.

Citing sources, Geo News reported that chats and videos were found in the forensic examination that had not previously been provided to the investigating agency. The forensic data also revealed that the video had allegedly been sent to several individuals.

The NCCIA has formed a new joint investigation team (JIT) to examine the newly discovered digital evidence, previous records and other relevant information.

The report said that the JIT, headed by a deputy director-level officer, would submit its report to the NCCIA director general within a month. A challan would be submitted in court after the JIT completes its report.

The NCCIA had earlier issued fresh notices to Momina Iqbal and MPA Saqib Chadhar following the emergence of new digital evidence and constituted the special investigation team to conduct a fresh probe.

According to an NCCIA spokesperson, the team will review the new digital evidence, previous records and other relevant information.
