Former special assistant to ex-prime minister Imran Khan on parliamentary coordination Nadeem Afzal Chan has said he will not testify against any politician including Imran Khan before the court.

“I want to clarify that NAB [National Accountability Bureau] sent me notice twice and summoned me so I had to go. I told them everything that happened in the cabinet,” he said in a video that he posted on his X account on Saturday.

“When he [Khan] was in power, I used to tell him these things. However, he is in jail now and my school of thought is not that of talking against someone who is oppressed or incarcerated,” he stated.

Nadeem Afzal Chan said that he told the NAB team whatever happened during the cabinet meeting regarding the £190 million settlement case, however, he will not testify against the PTI founder in court.

“I am not ready to testify in court. I cannot testify against a politician,” he added.

Earlier, sources said that at least two ministers of Khan’s federal cabinet and a former special assistant testified against him in the £190 million settlement case.

On December 1, NAB filed a corruption reference against the former prime minister, his wife, and other suspects in an Islamabad accountability court.

The reference names a total of eight individuals, including Farhat Shahzadi aka Farah Gogi, PTI leader Zulfi Bukhari, Shahzad Akbar, and Barrister Zia-ul-Mustafa Naseem.
