Islamabad: The National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) has announced plans to introduce a new facial recognition system aimed at facilitating pensioners and elderly citizens with faded fingerprints.
A consultative conference was held at NADRA, addressing issues faced in identity verification and exploring measures to enhance service delivery for regulators and citizens without disruption.
Chairman NADRA, Lt. Gen. Muhammad Munir Afzal, delivered a comprehensive briefing on the challenges encountered in the identity verification process across various sectors and highlighted the need for modernization.
Special focus was given to the difficulties faced by citizens, particularly senior citizens and pensioners, due to diminished fingerprint clarity.
The facial recognition system, designed to address these challenges, is set to roll out on January 15.
This initiative marks a significant step in ensuring smooth and efficient identity verification for elderly citizens, providing them with a hassle-free experience in accessing essential services.
