Reham Khan, former wife of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder and ex-prime minister Imran Khan, on Tuesday formally entered politics with the launch of her own political party named Pakistan Republic Party (PRP).

At a press conference held at the Karachi Press Club, Reham announced the formation of the party and unveiled its official logo, stating that her political foray aims to address pressing public concerns and offer a new direction in national politics.

However, shortly after the launch, the party’s logo drew attention of social media users for its resemblance to the emblem of the United States Department of Homeland Security.

Social media users and commentators pointed out striking similarities between the two designs, prompting discussions about originality and design choices.

A Karachi-based journalist, Abdul Jabbar Nasir, wrote in a Facebook post: “Reham Khan, former wife of former prime minister Imran Khan, has announced her political party named the Pakistan Republic Party.

It seems the logo was either designed in haste or simply copy-pasted. From the US Department of Homeland Security to the Pakistan Republic Party (#PRP), it’s the same monogram."

X user Attaur Rehman Abbasi said: ""Reham Khan may have rushed the design of the Pakistan Republic Party’s monogram, which is perhaps why it appears identical of the US Department of Homeland Security to the Pakistan Republic Party (#PRP)."
