New Year's Eve traffic diversion plan announced in Karachi

Karachi traffic police have unveiled a special plan to help residents reach Defence Housing Authority (DHA) through alternate routes on the New Year's Eve.

The notification issued by the Karachi traffic police informed the residents of DHA that they will be able to reach their destination via the following routes and alternate routes and residents of areas where traffic will be diverted by alternate routes are requested to carry their original ID card.

The notice further states that strict legal action will be taken against drivers of vehicles and motorcyclists who drive without silencers, with broken silencers, or engage in reckless driving. These individuals will be apprehended and handed over to the local police for further legal action.

Those travelling from Akhtar Colony to Khayaban Ittehad (Sea View) via Expressway and Korangi Road will be diverted due to traffic jam. They can follow the alternate routes to reach their destinations: Korangi Road, Sunset Boulevard Road, Gizri Bridge (turn right at Saudi Bridge), Khayaban Shamshir, and finally Sea View Road (starting from McDonald's).

Drivers travelling from Do Darya to Sea View or surrounding areas via Golf Club Ayesha Masjid are advised to use 26th Street

Those travelling to DHA from North Nazimabad, Gulberg, Liaquatabad, Gulshan Iqbal, or New Karachi should take the following route: MA Jinnah Road, Garden Road, Zeb Nisa Street, Awari Light Signal. Sindh Club Chowk, Hoshing Chowk, Teen Talwar, Do Talwar, Zam Zam, Boulevard Road, Khayaban Shamsheer, Sea View Road (starting from McDonald's).

Those intending to travel from Gadap, Bin Qasim, Landhi, Korangi, Shah Faisal, Jamshed, and Saddar to DHA should follow Shariah Faisal, proceed via Sindh Club Chowk, Hoshing Chowk, 3 Talwar, take a left at Race Course Signal, continue on Chaudhry Khaliq-ul-Zaman Road, and then turn right at Burj Saudia signal. Pass through Khayaban Shamsher and Macdonald Seaview.

No traffic will be allowed to go to the following places:

PIDC (from Ziauddin Road to Ziauddin Bridge towards Lilly Signal), PIDC Chowk to Club Chowk (Club Road)

Bilawal Chowrangi to Bahria Underpass (Clifton Helipad).

Creek and Korangi Road

Akhtar Colony Signal Road.
