Refuting Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder Imran Khan's claims, the chief medical officer of Shaukat Khanum Memorial Cancer Hospital (SKMCH) Dr Aasim Yusuf said that Bushra Bibi was not poisoned in Bani Gala sub-jail, where she is serving her sentences in two cases.
The development came after the doctor examined the former first lady following claims of being poisoned in the sub-jail.
Earlier, Bushra Bibi claimed that someone had mixed three drops of toilet cleaner into her food on the day of Shab-e-Mairaj.
On the other hand, the former prime minister, during the hearing of a £190 million settlement case in Adiala jail, also alleged that Bushra Bibi was poisoned at Bani Gala.
However, Dr Aasim Yusuf has clarified the situation, saying that no evidence of poison was found in the medical examination of Bushra Bibi.
"Bushra Bibi's health deteriorated two months back due to spicy food," he said while talking to a private news channel on Thursday.
