Over 29% Pakistani men are unmarried: report

The Pakistan Bureau of Statistics (PBS) released the findings of the 2023 seventh digital census on Thursday.
The report revealed that a significant proportion of the population remains unmarried. According to the details, 29.75 percent people in Pakistan are single, while 65.97 percent are married.
The report also provided insight into the country's social and economic dynamics, revealing that 3.78 percent of the population are widows, 0.35 percent are divorced, and 0.15 percent are separated.
The PBS highlighted that 79 percent of the population is under 40 years of age, with 40.56 percent under 15 years and 26 percent between 15 to 29 years.
The demographic trend indicated a youthful population with positive implications for the country's future.
Unfortunately, 2.53 million children between 5 and 16 are out of school, reflecting a major challenge in ensuring access to education for all.
The report also provided details about the country's religious demographics, with 8.7 million Hindus, Christians, Qadiani, and other religious minorities living in Pakistan.
The population growth rate in Pakistan is the highest in the region, with projections indicating that the population will double by 2050.
