As many as 336,999 Pakistani workers went abroad for employment between January 1 and June 30, 2025, according to the Bureau of Emigration and Overseas Employment (BEOE).
An official at the BEOE, a subsidiary of the Ministry of Overseas Pakistanis and Human Resource Development, said that the number of people seeking foreign employment continues to grow, reflecting the impact of national policies and the expansion of opportunities for both skilled and unskilled labor, according to a report.
Since its inception in 1971, the BEOE has facilitated the overseas employment of more than 10 million Pakistani nationals through its official registration system.
The Bureau remains a key government institution responsible for regulating and managing the emigration of Pakistani workers.
The official further said that the year 2015 recorded the highest annual outflow of workers, with 946,571 individuals securing employment abroad. Currently, over 116,300 foreign job vacancies are available through the Bureau’s platform.

Overseas employment is considered a critical component of Pakistan’s economic framework, contributing to the reduction of domestic unemployment and serving as a major source of foreign exchange through remittances.
The BEOE continues to oversee the emigration process in coordination with licensed Overseas Employment Promoters (OEPs) operating in the private sector.
