Pakistan and China sealed key defence equipment agreements during the ongoing IDEAS 2024 exhibition, which is currently in its fourth day at the Expo Centre in Karachi.

The exhibition has become a major platform for international defence companies to showcase their innovations, and several memorandums of understanding (MOUs) and agreements have been signed, strengthening defence ties between various nations.

Among the highlights, Pakistan’s Heavy Industries Taxila (HIT) and China’s Norinco signed a significant MOU. The agreement was formalised by Mr Ding from China and Brigadier Nadeem Ahsan from Pakistan, marking a continued collaboration between the two nations in defence technology.

The exhibition also saw the visit of Pakistan's Chief of Army Staff (COAS), General Asim Munir, who praised the active participation of friendly nations in the event.

According to the military's media wing, ISPR, General Munir engaged with foreign military officials and defence delegates, commending the contributions of international defence manufacturers in promoting innovation and enhancing global cooperation.
