Pakistan Railways slashes fares by 25% for Eidul Fitr

Pakistan Railways has announced a 25 percent discount on fares to facilitate passengers on all three days of Eid-ul-Fitr.

“The competent authority has been pleased to grant a 25 percent reduction on fares of all passengers,” the notification issued by the authorities on Tuesday read.

“This concession will be allowed on only current booking on all three days of Eid,” it added.

"The concessional fare shall not be less than the minimum fares and rounding off must be ensured. Concessional fares shall not apply to the Eid Special trains."

The Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee is set to meet on April 9 (today) for the sighting of the Eidul Fitr moon. 

The moon is likely to be sighted today and Eidul Fitr will fall on Wednesday (April 10) in Pakistan.
