The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) said that stargazers can witness the partial lunar eclipse in the country on September 18 (Wednesday).

Although the eclipse will not be fully viewable in Pakistan due to the moon's position below the horizon during certain phases, astronomy enthusiasts can still witness this celestial event.

Lunar eclipses occur when Earth is positioned between the sun and the moon and casts a shadow across the surface of the moon.

The phenomenon provides clear evidence of Earth's spherical shape, as the planet forms a curved shadow on the moon, sometimes appearing to take a "bite" out of it.

Timeline of the Eclipse in Pakistan:

• Eclipse begins: 5:41am

• Partial phase starts: 7:13am

• Maximum point: 7:44am

• Partial lunar eclipse ends: 8:16am

• Entire eclipse concludes: 9:47am

This celestial event will also be visible in other regions, including Europe, Asia, Africa, North America, and South America.
