Pakistani female cop Anum Khan wins global award at World Police Summit 2025

Pakistani police officer Anum Khan Muhammad Sher has brought international recognition to Pakistan’s law enforcement community by winning the prestigious ‘Excellence in Criminal Investigation’ award at the 2025 World Police Summit Awards, held in Dubai.

Anum Khan, serving at Sargodha City Police Station, was honoured for her outstanding leadership and investigative work in two high-profile murder cases in Punjab. 

The award ceremony, hosted by Dubai Police under the patronage of the UAE government, witnessed participation from security professionals and police leadership from over 90 countries.

Ms Khan had investigated into the brutal murder of 12-year-old domestic worker Ayesha Bibi, solving the case and arresting the suspects within 72 hours. Her swift and action brought her to the praise from the public and top government officials, including the Chief Minister of Punjab.

In a second case, she directed the investigation into the murder of a young man named Mohsin, ensuring arrests within just 24 hours. Her effective command, attention to justice, and investigative precision in both cases assisted her in earning recognisation from Punjab Police.

Pakistani cop was chosen from over 900 international submissions, her selection reflected the growing professionalism and capability of Pakistan’s police force, particularly its women officers.

Speaking at the award ceremony in Dubai, Anum Khan said: “It is a proud moment for Pakistan and the Punjab Police. I am honoured to represent my country and show that we are capable of not just maintaining law and order but achieving international standards of policing. This award is a tribute to my entire team and the values we uphold.”

The World Police Summit, considered one of the leading international platforms for police innovation and recognition, annually honours exceptional achievements in law enforcement across a range of categories.
