For the fifth consecutive year, the Pakistani passport has been ranked the ‘fourth worst’ in the year 2024, according to latest data shared by Henley & Partners.
The Henley Passport Index is a ranking of all the world’s 199 passports according to the number of destinations their holders can access without a prior visa.
In the latest ranking, Pakistan’s travel document ranked at 106 only higher than those of Iraq, Syria, and Afghanistan.
Pakistan’s passport permits visa-free access to 34 states out of 227 destinations included in the index.
The top spot belongs to five countries — France, Germany, Italy, Japan, and Singapore, as their passport provides citizens visa-free access to 194 destinations.
Finland, South Korea and Sweden tied for 2nd place, with each passport allowing access to 193 destinations.
The third spot is shared by four countries, Austria, Denmark, Ireland, and the Netherlands, with a score of 192.
Afghanist remains at the position of world’s worst passport with access to only 28 destinations, Iraq’s allows travel to 29 and Syria’s travel document only affords the bearer access to 30 destinations.
