PPP nominates Amjad Hussain Advocate for Gilgit-Baltistan CM slot

The Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) has nominated Amjad Hussain Advocate as its candidate for the position of Chief Minister of Gilgit-Baltistan.
According to party sources, this is the first time that the PPP has nominated a candidate from the Gilgit region for the chief ministership.
Amjad Hussain Advocate currently serves as the President of the PPP's Gilgit-Baltistan chapter and was elected from constituency GBA-1 Gilgit in the recent elections.
Meanwhile, the Gilgit-Baltistan Election Commission has announced the official results for 21 of the 24 constituencies. Results for GBA-9 Skardu-3, GBA-17 Diamer-3 and GBA-15 Diamer-1 are yet to be declared.
According to the Election Commission, of the six reserved seats for women, three have gone to the PPP, two to the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N), and one to the Istehkam-e-Pakistan Party (IPP).
Similarly, the three technocrat seats have been distributed equally, with one seat each allocated to the PPP, PML-N and IPP.
PPP leader Nayyer Hussain Bukhari stated that, after including reserved and technocrat seats, the party is expected to hold a clear majority of between 17 and 19 seats.
