Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has launched an anti-government movement with Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur issuing a 90-day ultimatum for the release of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder Imran Khan.
Gandapur delivered a fiery address at a PTI parliamentary meeting on Saturday night, warning of consequences if party workers continued to face crackdowns.
“If you fire bullets at us, be ready to face them in return. Either you will be gone or we will if our leader is not released within 90 days,” he declared.
“He is innocent. There’s no valid case against him. On the 90th day, Imran Khan will be among us.”
Targeting JUI-F chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman for suggesting a change in the KP government, the chief minister said: “Maulana Fazl holds a fake mandate himself. He should focus on reforming his own party rather than dreaming of toppling ours.”
Dismissing threats to his provincial government, he said, “They didn’t give us KP, so they can’t take it away. Let them try.” He also criticised the suspension of PTI lawmakers in Punjab, calling it a “blatant disregard for the law.”
At the end of the meeting, Gandapur led party members in chants supporting Imran Khan and administered an oath to launch a full-fledged campaign for his release.
