Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has urged the masses to join the historic public gathering in Islamabad for the release of party founder Imran Khan and to protest the tax-laden budget.

The rally will be held in the Tarnol area of the federal capital on July 6, according to PTI.

In a video message on X, PTI secretary Omar Ayub requested supporters to make the rally "successful".

“This public gathering is being organised for the release of Imran Khan and against the economic terrorism of the current government, which has begun the tsunami of inflation,” said the opposition leader.

“The rally will be held through the platform of protection of the constitution of Pakistan,” he said while appealing to the supporters to come from across the country.

The opposition party had received approval from the Islamabad Deputy Commissioner (DC) to hold a rally at Tarnol, after the court order.

On June 26, Amir Mughal, PTI Islamabad chapter president, met DC Islamabad and discussed the potential locations for the event.

He proposed four locations, and the DC agreed on Tarol. DC assured Mughal that the NOC would be issued.
