Punjab CM Maryam's daughter Mahnoor set to marry Azan Jabbar at Jati Umrah today

PML-N supremo Nawaz Sharif has returned from Singapore and postponed his planned trip to London to attend the wedding of his granddaughter Mahnoor Safdar this evening.

According to reports, Mahnoor, daughter of Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif, is set to marry Azan Jabbar, the son of industrialist Jabbar Khalid.

The nikkah will take place at the Sharif family’s Jati Umrah residence as the ceremony is being kept largely private. Only close relatives, friends and members of the Sharif and Khalid families are expected to attend, the reports said, citing sources.

Azan’s father Jabbar Khalid is associated with the flour-milling industry. The wedding follows Maryam Nawaz’s recent visit to London for Mahnoor’s graduation. The chief minister returned to Lahore on Wednesday after attending the ceremony.

Mahnoor has generally stayed away from public attention, and the Sharif family has yet to announce whether a formal reception or other wedding events will be held.

Earlier, Mahnoor’s brother, Junaid Safdar, married Shanzeh Ali Rohale, granddaughter of former lawmaker Shaikh Rohale Asghar, in January. The celebrations included a mehndi, baraat and valima at Jati Umrah.
