The bodies of six labourers who were abducted earlier this week in Balochistan’s Kech district were recovered from the Nasirabad area on the outskirts of Turbat.
The victims had been kidnapped after unidentified armed men intercepted their vehicle near Kalatak.
According to Turbat police and Balochistan Home Department media adviser Babar Yousafzai, the attackers shot dead one labourer, Javed Khan from Swabi.
A passer-by, Abdul Razzaq, was also killed after being caught in the crossfire. Police and security forces launched a search operation immediately after the incident.
Authorities identified the six victims as Arshad of Lodhran, Muhammad Taimur, Muhammad Wazir and Muhammad Parvaiz of Bahawalpur, Amjad of Buner, and Yahya of Swabi.
Four of the deceased were from Punjab and two from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
Their bodies were shifted to Teaching Hospital Turbat for post-mortem examinations before being handed over to their families.
Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi condemned the killings, blaming militants he described as “Fitna al-Hindustan” for the attack.
