Minister of State for Law, Barrister Aqil Malik, stated that the matter of imposing Governor Rule in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) is under consideration.
Speaking on Geo News’ program Naya Pakistan, Barrister Aqil Malik said that in view of the terrorism and border situation, the government is contemplating the imposition of Governor Rule.
He added, “The situation in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa is evident to everyone. There is a need for an administrative setup in the province that provides some relief. How long will the citizens of the province remain helpless?”
Barrister Aqil Malik further explained that Governor Rule is implemented only in situations of urgent necessity, and the current circumstances of the province warrant such a measure.
He also recalled that Governor Rule has been tried in Punjab in the past.
Meanwhile, there are reports that Governor KP Faisal Karim Kundi may be replaced.
