A 16-year-old motorcyclist was killed after being hit by a speeding water tanker in Karachi’s Gulshan-e-Maymar area, police said on Tuesday.

According to police officials, the deceased was identified as Yaseen, a resident of the area.

The tragic incident caused anger among locals who began pelting the water tanker with stones in protest.

Police and Rangers personnel arrived at the scene to control the situation. Law enforcement officials later confirmed that both the tanker driver and cleaner were taken into custody, and the vehicle was seized for further investigation.

Earlier, four people, including a woman and two young girls, lost their lives in a devastating car accident on Karachi’s Hawksbay Road, reportedly caused by overspeeding.

According to police and rescue officials, the vehicle was returning from a trip to the seaside when the driver apparently lost control while taking a turn.

The car veered off course and slammed into the wall of a nearby drain, leaving people inside the car with critical injuries.
