Temperature falls to single digit in Karachi

The port city recorded a drop in temperatures to single digits on Tuesday night, with the mercury dipping to 9°C at Karachi's Jinnah Terminal.
According to the Meteorological Department, a wintery wave has finally been felt. Gulistan-e-Jauhar recorded 10°C, while Shahra-e-Faisal recorded 12°C.
Mauripur recorded a 12.5°C drop in mercury, while Bin Qasim port recorded 12.2°C.
The weather in the city is expected to be dry and cool at night, with the minimum temperature expected to remain at 10°C during the next 24 hours.
The wind speed in Karachi is 10 kilometers per hour from a northeasterly direction, with 48% humidity.
The Meteorological Department reports that the average December temperature in Karachi is 13.4 degrees Celsius.
Meanwhile, Balochistan is experiencing intensifying cold weather, with temperatures plummeting in several cities. Quetta recorded a chilling low of -4 degrees Celsius.
The Meteorological Department predicts that most parts of the country will remain cold and dry today. However, light rain and snowfall are expected in Gilgit-Baltistan, upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Kashmir, and adjacent hilly areas.
