A US woman, Onijah Andrew Robinson, who traveled to Pakistan and was abandoned by her Karachi-based boyfriend, Nidal Ahmed Memon, spent the night in the parking lot of his apartment building and repeatedly asked the security officials to let her speak with her boyfriend. She described Nidal as her husband.
After arriving at her boyfriend Nidal Memon's residence from Jinnah International Airport, Karachi, Onijah Andrew discovered he and his family had fled before her arrival.
The disappointed woman decided to stay in the building. Police kept her in a secure area, with SDPO Defence Faiza Sodher explaining, "Security forces cannot allow her to remain here openly, as she is a foreign national."

She added, "Because she is traumatized by the incident, the woman has not been cooperating with police."
The woman continued to complain to the police and building management that she had not eaten or rested because she missed her "husband," Nidal.
"Call my husband Nidal," she repeatedly requested the polices, who responded, “We are trying to find Nadal and introduce him to you, please wait.”
In addition to her security, the building management closed the entrances and exits to the apartments.
Rafique Ahmed, a resident of the building, stated that they did not know the whereabouts of Nidal and his family, and that it was the authorities' responsibility to find them immediately and resolve the situation.
Earlier, the woman had arrived at Jinnah International Airport but declined to board her scheduled return flight.

After leaving the airport in an online cab, she went to the Ali Arcade area, where she remained in the parking lot of the flats.
Despite requests from building management to leave, she refused. She has also reportedly declined to speak with any media or individuals about her situation.
She has made demands for land and $3,000 in financial support in Pakistan, though her motives remain unclear. Authorities continue to monitor the situation, and discussions regarding her potential return to the US are ongoing.
