Google Photos has introduced several new artificial intelligence (AI)-powered features, expanding its photo editing capabilities.

Among the new tools is the ability to remove or edit people and objects from images, along with the introduction of a new “Ask” button, which responds to users’ editing queries or requests.

The company had earlier introduced voice-guided photo editing on the Pixel 10 series, and this feature is now being rolled out to iPhone users in the United States.

Additionally, Google is launching a redesigned photo editor for iOS devices, bringing a fresh interface and improved usability.

In a recent blog post, Google said that a new “personalized editing” feature will recognize people’s faces in photos, allowing users to make specific changes through the “Help Me Edit” option.

For example, users can remove sunglasses, make someone smile, or perform other custom edits — with individual instructions required for each person in the photo.

The update also includes integration of Google’s new “Nano” AI image model, which enables users to recreate their photos in different artistic styles.

Moreover, a new AI templates feature is being added to Google Photos, helping users easily convert images into specific formats or layouts.

These new AI tools will first be available to users in the United States and India, before expanding to other regions.

It’s worth noting that last year, Google had already introduced AI-based search functionality within Google Photos for users in the U.S.
