Gunshot residue (GSR) has been detected on both hands, back and chest of young businessman Mir Raza Ali, media reports said, citing investigative sources.

They said four of 13 samples collected during the exhumation of the victim's body produced results. The University of Karachi's Chemical Examiner Laboratory has completed the analysis and provided its report to police, the reports said.

According to the reports, 13 samples were collected during the exhumation for chemical examination. However, nine samples were rendered unfit for analysis, while results were obtained from the remaining four.

They said traces of gunshot residue were detected on both of Mir Raza's hands. The presence of GSR on both hands could indicate that he may also have fired a weapon, they added.

Gunshot residue was also detected in samples collected from his back and chest, according to the sources.

Police sources said the chemical examination report would be assessed alongside other evidence as the investigation progresses.
