Google has not only unveiled its annual analysis of search trends for 2023, but the company has also marked its 25th anniversary with a special video that recalls the trends of the past 25 years.

The video, posted on microblogging platform X (formerly Twitter), looks back at the most searched moments ever, capturing significant events that have influenced the world since Google’s inception.

The caption says, "If the last 25 years have taught us anything, the next 25 will change everything. Here’s to the most searched moments of all time. #Year In Search.”

The time capsule video compiles significant global events across various themes. Initial categories include Neil Armstrong's historic moonwalk, the 1980s, and football as the most searched step, decade, and sport, respectively.

Cristiano Ronaldo, LeBron James, and Virat Kohli are the most searched athlete, MVP, and cricketer.

Pikachu and Harry Potter lead as the most searched character and cast, while Homer Simpson represents The Simpsons' most searched character.

Bollywood is the most searched movie genre. BTS and Black Pink top the searches for boy bands and girl bands. Google's Year in Search also highlights the top global queries of 2023, with the ongoing Israel-Hamas war leading the news trends category.

Other notable events include the Titanic-bound submersible implosion and earthquakes in Turkey and Syria. The annual search trends offer insights into global and regional interests over the past 12 months.
