Ten people were killed and around a dozen wounded when two gunmen opened fire at a Jewish holiday celebration on Sunday at Bondi beach Sydney.

A shooting was reported at Bondi Beach in Sydney during Jewish Hanukkah celebrations, causing panic in the area.

Australian police confirmed that two individuals carried out the attack and have since been neutralized. Authorities have urged the public to stay away from the location as security forces are investigating about the attack.

Around a dozen were taken to the local hospital, ambulance spokesperson told.

An “improvised explosive device” has been found in a car, the Australian police stated. “We have found an improvised explosive device in a car which is linked to the deceased offender,” New South Wales Police Commissioner Mal Lanyon told a news conference.

Prime Minister Anthony Albanese called the incident “shocking and distressing”, adding that “emergency responders are on the ground and working to save lives”.
