MQM-Pakistan party leader and Federal Minister Mustafa Kamal had claimed that Imran Farooq was killed on the orders of Altaf Hussain.
Addressing a press conference in Karachi, along with the party leaders, Mustafa Kamal claimed that this was done on the orders of Altaf Hussain, as Imran Farooq was a "birthday gift" when he had Imran Farooq killed on his birthday, on September 17, 2010. Altaf Hussain ordered the murder of Imran Farooq.
“The founder of the MQM is a dramatic person, to the level that he has called for donations to be collected for the body," Mustafa Kamal said. He said that the founder of the MQM is doing “drama” on Dr. Imran Farooq’s wife’s body.
According to reports by a news channel, the federal minister said: “The MQM founder has received donations of hundreds of thousands of pounds for sending the body to Pakistan." He further mentioned that Dr. Imran Farooq's wife has recently passed away and the MQM founder has created a fuss yet again over the body.
"No one had any contact with his family after Imran Farooq's death," Mustafa Kamal asserted. Mustafa Kamal further added, "Altaf Hussain is considered a king. Many facts had been concealed." Mustafa Kamal had gone on behalf of his party at the time of Imran Farooq's murder.
He said he was also present there and asserted that the MQM founder only desired photo shoots during the funeral prayers and had even organized photos to be taken inside the mosque, though taking photos is forbidden.
The federal minister termed the founder of the MQM the “biggest traitor to the Mohajir nation” and said that the “Mohajir nation was unfortunate to have such a criminal leader.”
Mustafa Kamal asked the children of Imran Farooq to distance themselves from Altaf Hussain in London and take the initiative of going to the courts to look for justice in the murder of their father.
He further alleged that Altaf Hussain has destroyed Karachi but they will, God willing, reconstruct Karachi.
