Islamabad court sentences man to 3 years in jail for sharing woman's indecent photos

An additional sessions court in Islamabad has sentenced a man from Dera Ghazi Khan to three years in prison for circulating objectionable images of a woman.

The case had been registered by the National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency (NCCIA).

According to the prosectuion, the accused sent the woman’s sexually explicit images to her husband and brother via multiple WhatsApp numbers. He also shared the content on his Facebook account.

The suspect was arrested on March 9, 2023, and authorities recovered mobile phones, SIM cards, and other digital evidence from his possession. Technical analysis reports from the forensic laboratory corroborated the evidence against him.

Additional Sessions Judge Abdul Hafeez Memon handed down the sentence under the Prevention of Electronic Crimes Act (PECA) 2016. The court awarded a three-year prison term to the convict and a fine of Rs100,000.

Additionally, the court ordered the convict to pay Rs50,000 in compensation to the victim.
