Karachi: Two arrested for torturing citizens, main suspect flees to Balochistan

Police have arrested two private security guards for torturing two citizens in Karachi’s Boat Basin area. The detained individuals were employed by the main suspect, Shahzain Marri, who fled to Balochistan after the incident.
A CCTV footage of the assault went viral online, sparking outrage over the brazen actions of five to six armed men traveling in a Toyota Surf.
The main suspect, identified as Shahzain Marri, was seen torturing a citizen along with his security guards. Following the emergence of the footage, police launched an operation and arrested two of the accused.

DIG South Asad Raza stated that police conducted raids at two locations late last night, resulting in the arrest of two guards involved in the assault.
Authorities also recovered four modern weapons from the suspects, identified as Ghaus Bakhsh and Jalad Khan, who were employed as security guards by Shahzain Marri.

DIG Asad Raza further confirmed that Shahzain Marri personally participated in the assault alongside his guards. Following the incident, he escaped to Balochistan, and police have now reached out to the Balochistan government for his arrest.
Meanwhile, efforts are underway to apprehend other individuals involved in the attack.
