KWSC launches helpline to register complaints of uncovered manholes

To prevent incidents caused by open manholes in Karachi, a much-needed step has been taken by the Karachi Water & Sewerage Corporation (KW&SC).

It has initiated a helpline for residents to report any missing manhole cover that they spot.

They will have to take a clear photo of the manhole, share the exact location, and tag @KWSCOfficial on social media with the hashtag #FixKarachi.

Complaint can also be made by calling the 24/7 helpline 1334 or by emailing photos and location to [email protected]. 

Once a complaint is received, the team will be sent to repair or cover the manhole. This measure has been initiated in hopes that it will largely prevent life-threatening accidents.

The move has come after the tragic death of a 3-year-old boy after he fell in to an open man hole in Karachi.
