Man arrested for allegedly attempting to sexually assault 11-year-old in Ferozewala

Police have arrested a man in Sheikhupura’s Ferozewala for allegedly attempting to sexually assault an 11-year-old girl.

According to the police, the girl went missing at around 2pm on Saturday while she was travelling to her uncle’s house. During the search, her family was directed by local residents towards a nearby field, where they allegedly found the suspect with the girl and attempting to sexually assault her.

The suspect escaped from the spot but was subsequently traced and arrested by police.

Police and the Punjab Forensic Science Agency secured the site and collected evidence for forensic examination. Statements of witnesses were also recorded under Section 161 of the Criminal Procedure Code, the official said.

The girl’s medical examination indicated an attempted sexual assault, while doctors found no signs of hymen rupture.

A case was registered on the complaint of the girl’s father under Section 377-B of the Pakistan Penal Code, which deals with punishment for unnatural offences.
