Man arrested in Karachi for 'sextortion' after hacking women's WhatsApp

Karachi police have arrested a man for allegedly hacking women’s mobile phones and social media accounts to blackmail them for money.
The suspect, identified as Samir Khan, allegedly harassed women and extorted them through threats and coercion.
According to the police, the suspect sent malicious links to women, gaining unauthorised access to their phones and social media accounts. He then obtained their contact numbers from the hacked devices and made calls and sent messages via WhatsApp.

Following the hacking, he reportedly lured women to meet him under false pretenses, recorded videos of them, and later threatened to make the videos public to force them into sexual acts and extract money.
Investigations revealed that the suspect had already extorted several women.
During the arrest, police seized two mobile phones from the suspect along with numerous obscene videos. The suspect was apprehended from the jurisdiction of Eidgah Police Station, and a case has been registered, with further investigation underway.
