Mir Raza case: Probe team seizes MLO’s phone for forensic examination

The investigation team probing the death of young businessman Mir Raza Ali has taken into custody the mobile phone of the medical-legal officer (MLO) who conducted the first post-mortem, for forensic examination.

The team also summoned police surgeon Dr Summaiya Syed and questioned her about Mir Raza’s post-mortem reports.

Dr. Summaiya briefed the investigators in detail about the medical terminology used in the reports and answered their questions regarding the findings, sources said. According to reports, investigators were facing difficulties in understanding certain medical terms used in the medical reports.

DIG Crime and Investigation Aamir Farooqi, who heads the second investigation team formed to probe the case, has also indicated that investigators are considering releasing CCTV footage allegedly showing Mir Raza’s last moments.

Mir Raza’s family questioned why the footage had not been shared with them if it was in the possession of the police, and why it was being kept from them.

Investigative sources said Mir Raza’s business partner may also be included in the investigation.

Meanwhile, a protest over the death of young businessman Mir Raza continued at Nursery on Shahrah-e-Faisal.
